This is an informational tool
Pet8 reads pet food labels and applies a fixed set of rules to them. It is not veterinary advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation for your individual cat. Scores are for guidance only.
Talk to your vet
Your vet knows your cat's age, weight, medical history and any conditions that affect diet. Please speak to them before changing what you feed, especially for kittens, seniors, or cats with health issues.
Accuracy
Grades depend on what's printed on the label and on how well that label was read. Manufacturers change recipes, and labels differ between countries and pack sizes. We do our best, but we can't guarantee that every product's data is complete or current. Always check the pack in your hand.
Safety warnings
When a label lists an ingredient known to be unsafe for cats, Pet8 shows a warning instead of a score. Treat the absence of a warning as “we didn't detect one”, not as a guarantee that a food is safe.
Acceptable use
Use Pet8 for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don't scrape it, republish its scores as your own, or use it to make claims about a brand that the app itself doesn't make.
Liability
Pet8 is provided as-is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions made on the basis of a score.
